Shipping Rates / Options / FAQ

Q: I didn’t receive an order confirmation. Did my order go through?
A: Please check your spam box. Sometimes order confirmations & FedEx tracking information ends up in your spam box. It just depends on your email provider.

Q: What shipping options are available?
A: FedEx Home Delivery, FedEx Ground, FedEx Express & FedEx Overnight. All shipping options are trackable.

Q: What about APO / FPO shipping?
A: APO / FPO addresses are shipped via USPS Flat Rate boxes. USPS shipments do not have guaranteed arrival dates or 100% tracking. Tracking is available within the USA, but may not be available once the package leaves the country.

Q: When is my order shipped?
A: Please select your requested ship date when placing your order.  We ship Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.  Our cakes are estimated to arrive within 2-4 business days from shipping.  We try our best to have your cake delivered on time. Once your shipment leaves our hands, it is up to FedEx to complete the delivery. Please note: Due to Covid-19 logistical issues & ongoing labor shortages, FedEx is experiencing unprecedented shipping volumes ~ which may cause shipping delays. FedEx has suspended their money-back guarantee for all FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Home Delivery, FedEx Freight and FedEx Office services until further notice.

Q: Are there additional charges when shipping to remote areas?
A: Yes, for certain addresses. In 2020, FedEx raised their “Extended Service Area” rate to deliver packages to certain areas with smaller populations. Sadly, we can no longer absorb the 2023 FedEx rate increase. If your “Ship To” delivery address incurs an additional FedEx fee for an “Extended Service Area”, we will contact you before we ship your order. We do not mark up this fee ~ you will be charged exactly the same amount FedEx charges us.

Q: Can I ship an order to a P.O. Box?
A: No, we do not ship to P.O. boxes.

Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: No ~ Only to APO/FPO Addresses

Q: Is Priority/Rush shipping available?
A: Yes, FedEx Standard Overnight with next day arrival by 8pm.  If FedEx Overnight Priority AM or FedEx First Overnight delivery is needed, please contact us regarding availability.  These services are not available in all areas.

Q: May I combine shipments of multiple cakes to the same address?
A: Absolutely! If you are shipping 3 or more cakes to one address, please email us at missdotties@gmail.com to see if bulk FedEx Ground / FedEx Home Delivery shipping & discounted pricing is available for your delivery address.

Q: Do you offer personal / custom local delivery?
A: Yes. Within the Glen Ellyn, IL area. Please contact us directly for personal / local / contactless delivery options. Current rates are:

  • 0-5 miles from Glen Ellyn, IL ~ Free
  • 6-14 miles from Glen Ellyn, IL ~ $25
  • 15-25 miles from Glen Ellyn, IL ~ $40
  • 25-32 miles from Glen Ellyn, IL ~ $55
  • 32-40 miles from Glen Ellyn, IL ~ $65

Q: What is the best way to contact you about my order?
A: Email is the preferred method at missdotties@gmail.com. You may also visit our contact page.  If you need to call us, our number is 630-742-3223. If we do not answer right away, please leave a voicemail & we will get back to you as soon as possible. We bake all night = sleep in morning. Messages are returned after 1:00pm CST.

Q: Do you make Celebration cakes, Buttercream cakes & cakes with icing?
A: No, not at this time.

Q: Is my payment secure?
A: Yes, Absolutely!  Providing a safe & secure environment for your order information is our top priority.  Every interaction with Miss Dottie’s Pound Cake is over SSL, and will protect you from 3rd party snooping.  To further protect your information, we suggest you sign off from your account & close your browser window after you have finished your visit. Especially if you are using a computer shared by others or in a public place.
